Born and raised in the mountains of North Carolina, I was intrigued by the history, communities, and relationships we cultivate and sustain throughout generations. I had a deep desire to learn more about what motivates and drives our wish to connect, in parallel to the more destructive aspects of the human condition.
Curious about group dynamics and the individual, I earned my Bachelor’s Degree at Warren Wilson College in Anthropology and Sociology, with a focus on archaeology, psychology, and social work. Feeling lost after graduation, I stumbled across depth psychology and began training in Modern Psychoanalysis at the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis, where I was granted a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Currently, I am an advanced doctoral candidate in their clinical program.
After working in intense environments within the school system, transitional housing, trauma clinics, and hospital settings, I obtained professional licensure and opened a private practice. Previous outpatient clinical roles included psycho-educational skill building and group counseling with children, families, and established institutional supports, in very low-resourced, high-conflict, and highly traumatized communities. Post-graduate training included trauma counseling through the Justice Resource Institute and addiction counseling through UMass Memorial Hospital.
My current practice focuses on working with adult individuals interested in the self-exploration of their own experiences of anxiety, depression, fear, and emotional distress, in efforts to develop a deeper understanding of their own motivations, improve satisfaction in life, and grow within their relationships. I also enjoy providing case consultation to those in all realms of practice, when beneficial. I am fully licensed in the states of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and North Carolina.
I have presented lecture series at Emerson College, Amherst College, and the University of New Hampshire. I am also a member of the American Psychological Association: Division 39, the Massachusetts Association of Psychoanalytic Psychology, and The Society of Modern Psychoanalysis through the Center of Modern Psychoanalytic Studies in New York City. I also participate in continuing educational trainings provided by Asheville Analytic Thought.
Warm regards,
